What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol is one of more than a hundred cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. It is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis. Unlike THC, another well-known cannabinoid, CBD is non-psychoactive.

What is Full Spectrum CBD?

Full Spectrum CBD (hemp oil) means that an oil or product contains all the cannabinoids, compounds, minerals, fiber, flavonoids, and terpenes that are found in the whole cannabis plant in nature, rather than just CBD (cannabidiol). Unlike isolated or synthetic cannabinoids, full spectrum hemp oil holds nothing back and contains all cannabinoids (there are over 100 different cannabinoids). When the combination of multiple compounds in their natural state are used, it is referred to as the “entourage effect”, as it is theorized that the many components within the cannabis plant interact with the human body to produce a combined influence than any one of those components alone.

How does CBD benefit the skin?

When applied topically to the skin, the most immediately recognizable effect is that it is rich in essential fatty acids, which assists in maintaining healthy, youthful, and glowing skin. It is also superior in helping to reduce the appearance of pore size, protecting the skin’s appearance from the damaging effects of aging and maintaining a soft, smooth and youthful look and feel.

What Is a Tincture?

Not to be confused with tinctures that contain alcohol, CBD oil tinctures normally do not contain alcohol. Instead CBD oil is mixed with a carrier oil such as hemp and MCT, as well as flavors and sometimes added terpenes. Another use for tinctures is to be mixed with other topical products to help deliver CBD directly where needed.

Why Oil Cleansing?

Oil dissolves oil. One of the most basic principles of chemistry is that “like dissolves like.” The best way to dissolve a non-polar solvent like sebum/oil, is by using another non-polar solvent similar in composition. By using the right oils, you can cleanse your pores of dirt and bacteria naturally, gently and effectively, while replacing the dirty oil with beneficial ones extracted from natural botanicals that heal, protect and nourish your skin. When done properly and consistently, the oil cleanser will dissolve the oil that has harden with impurities stuck in your pores, allowing the oil to clear the skin from issues like oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, blackheads, whiteheads and other problems caused by clogged pores while leaving your skin healthy, balanced, nourished and properly moisturized.

Will using the KUL Skin care line daily make my skin breakout?

This is not a yes or no answer because of the many factors that can cause breakouts such as:

+ Hormones

+ Environmental pollutants

+ Stress

+ Skin type

+ Aggressive ingredients

+ Allergies to certain ingredients

+ Changing skincare products

Just to name a few. It’s typical to have a couple of breakouts when you begin a new skincare line, especially if you have never used a complete set of products before.  When your skin is exposed to new ingredients, the skin will often purge because the products are freeing clogged pores. A sudden crop of pimples may mean that the product is working.  Also, the Cleanser and Retinol Night Repair are exfoliants, which means its job is to free clogged pores, so that’s a good thing!

It takes experimentation and patience to find products that work for every skin type, but especially for those who tend to breakout, have clogged pores, and struggle with oily skin.  It takes time for the sub dermis to reach the epidermis, many times the skin will acclimate to the ingredients and the breakouts should cease.  If you continue to break out, try just using the cleanser only for a few days and then add another product such as Anti-Aging Moisturizer and so on until you find the product that is causing the breakouts.

If your skin develops irritation, inflammation, or a rash appears, you should immediately discontinue using the products and consult a physician.

Why Should I apply Glö Serum after Anti-Aging Moisturizer and Retinol Repair Night Moisturizer?

Typically, a serum is applied before a moisturizer when the serum is water based because the molecular size is small and can penetrate quickly. GLÖ Serum is an oil blend, if you apply this before the moisturizer, the ingredients in the moisturizer would not be able to penetrate the skin at all. GLÖ Serum is a nourishing, balancing and comforting blend of natural extracts, essential oils and botanicals designed to not only plump the skin but to also add a radiant glow and a softer texture that is hard to achieve with other topical formulas. Due to their thicker texture and combination of molecular sizes, oils provide benefits that "prime" the skin for makeup application.

Can topical application of CBD skincare show up in a blood test or get me high?

Our skin acts as a protective barrier. The molecules in THC are too big and can not be absorbed into the bloodstream through the skin. The cannabinoids bind to receptors in our skin, muscle tissue, and nerves, but get absorbed before they could permeate through our skin into the bloodstream. THC only gets users high when it reaches our brains, something it cannot do through the surface of the skin.

How are Probiotics good for the skin?

Probiotics are live microorganisms that can help to balance the microbiome on the surface of the skin.

The job of probiotic skin care products is to restore balance to the skin’s microbiome and increase the quantity of good bacteria on the skin. Probiotic ingredients have also been shown to significantly improve the skin’s ability to remain hydrated. This is likely because when the skin’s microbiome is healthy, it is better able to produce natural humectants and attract moisture into the skin.

Your skin is resilient and delicate at the same time. It constantly has to put up with various environmental pollutants and particles that make it appear to age faster or look dull. In order to function properly, the skin needs moisture balance. When this balance is impaired, you either have dry skin or too much sebum is produced thus leading to oily skin.  Probiotics are all about restoring balance! They use a multifaceted approach to improve skin’s health. When applied to your skin, probiotics combat the bad bacteria and prevent problems they could cause.

There are many skin benefits of probiotics:

+ It strengthens a compromised skin barrier, allowing the skin to look better and feel stronger. This is especially important for thin and easily irritated skin.

+ Keeps the skin’s pH healthy and balanced.

+ Probiotic skincare products restore the balance of bacteria in your skin.

+ Probiotic skincare can benefit dry and sensitive skin by boosting the skin’s ability to retain moisture and stay hydrated.

+ Skin appears firmer and looks more youthful.

+ Probiotic skincare products can act as exfoliants that eliminate these impurities and give you a clear, radiant complexion

+ Probiotic products improve the functioning of other ingredients by acting like a booster
